Research Area: Dimensionality Reduction Techniques
About me: Master's student in Exploration Geophysics . Holding a B.S Degree in software Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) Dhahran , Saudi Arabia. Worked for 3 years in Saudi Aramco developing a near surface modeling software package for the seismic processing group. Currently my studies at UBC are sponsored by the same company and will be going back to work with them afterwards. My research area is in Dimensionality Reduction Techniques- including Randomized Matrix Decomposition and Hierarchical Matrices - and how they can be incorporated in seismic processing applications such as estimation of primaries by sparse inversion (EPSI) to reduce their storage and computation demands.
